Mark VanDenHoek
President
I enjoy spending time with my kids and grandkids exploring a new area and hiking or kayaking. The older grandkids are now able to manage their own kayaks, so that is great to watch. I also enjoy cooking and culinary pursuits immensely, so whether it be family or friends, I enjoy making something they normally wouldn’t cook for themselves. I also enjoy anything to do with aviation, especially learning about new innovations in the aircraft industry regarding general aviation. I also like spending time on the ocean, whether that be sailing, diving, or exploring a new location with friends. My wife and I have been lucky enough to travel quite a bit, so exploring foreign lands is also high on the list.

My two sons and I love summertime. We love spending our weekends camping and fishing. We also enjoy baseball, bike riding, and spending time with family.

My wife and I enjoy outdoor activities like riding bicycles, hiking and snowshoeing. We also enjoy time with our family. We have three married children (a son and two daughters) as well as six granddaughters.

I was recently married (July 2020) to Kyle and I have a 7th grade daughter, Taziah, who we revolve our life around! In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and watching Taziah participate in all of her activities year round, as she is involved in basketball, volleyball, softball and track.

Our home life mostly revolves around our pets (1 dog and 1 cat). Once they are happy, then we can move on to other things. I like to spend my spare time cooking, crafting, and watching movies.

I enjoy spending time with my wife (Sharon) and four children (Michael, Phoebe, Sophia, & Paul), with three of our four kids in the South Dakota Air National Guard. In the warmer months we enjoy spending time outside as a family and with our neighbors when we host many gatherings at our house. Family road trips are probably our favorite type of vacation. I also spend time working part-time as an EMT for McCook County Ambulance in Salem, SD since 2006.

I enjoy winding down the day with video games, especially on “retrogaming” style consoles. I also enjoy working on automotives. My wife, and 2 daughters, have been patient with me throughout the years of the hard labor that takes me away from them, but grateful to have them by my side!

My wife and I have 4 kids, 2 of which are a set of twins. They all keep us very busy with school and other activities. We enjoy going fishing, camping, traveling to new places and exploring. In my spare time, I enjoy working on home remodel projects and building different things.

In my spare time I enjoy reading (military and political history mostly) and working with Linux on legacy servers. I also like spending time with my children and grandchildren.
